The new generation VW Golf GTI will get 300 hpJanuary 5, 2019
Volkswagen may release an even more “hot” Hatch in the next generation Golf GTI. Preliminary information says a two-liter turbo engine.
In 2019, the eighth generation Volkswagen Golf “charged” Hatch may be represented on the market with the GTI index. According to rumors, the model will receive about 300 “horses”, which will bring it to a completely new level of performance from the factory. Unfortunately, the company is really trying to prevent test prototypes from coming into the attention of photo spies.
Despite the carefully concealed secret, foreign experts believe that the model will keep a narrow radiator grille with wide air intakes in the front bumper, while the rear end will remain with large double tips of the exhaust system. In general, the design will be in the same style of the German concern. Inside, the car is reported to receive the next-generation VW modular infotainment platform.
But the main novelty of the car will be “bloated” engine up to 300 horsepower, transmitting all the torque through a robotic transmission to the front wheels. If this information is confirmed, then the new VW Golf GTI is the most powerful front-wheel drive hatchback.
We expect that the novelty will be presented already this year, as a model for 2020.
Meanwhile, more than 300,000 Europeans want to sue Volkswagen for dieselgate. Back in 2015, the German concern suffered severe punishment in America, where it bought all the recalled cars and paid compensation.
