Volvo brought to the winter tests station wagon V60 a new generation. Spy photos from the tests were laid out by the publication of Autocar. According to them, the premiere of the car will take place in March at the Geneva Motor Show. Sales of new items in Europe are expected closer to the end of the year. The main competitors of the car are called BMW 3-Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
According to unofficial data, the station wagon will receive a hybrid power unit. It will include a 2.0-gasoline engine and an electric motor. The car’s power will be 400 horsepower. Also, customers will be offered a cheaper version of the hybrid station wagon. This modification will receive a 1.5-liter unit together with a 2.0-liter engine. In addition, customers will be offered gasoline and diesel engines.
Units on heavy fuel D4 and D5 develop 190 and 235 hp respectively. The petrol line will include a T5 engine with a capacity of 254 horsepower. The transmission is an eight-speed automatic.
The novelty will receive the advanced security systems of the Swedish brand. Most of them will be borrowed from a large crossover Volvo XC60. Most likely the V60 will become the safest car in its class. According to forecasts, the initial price of the station wagon will exceed 32 000 euros.
