The new generation of Volkswagen Passat 2020 will present in DetroitDecember 11, 2018
Volkswagen is preparing to bring to the market a new generation of its popular Passat sedan. But the problem is that the model will remain on the same platform, and in fact will remain the same. Details we learn at the Detroit Auto Show.
Volkswagen has a little disappointed fans by preparing a new generation of the popular Passat sedan on the same platform. That is, the model presented in 2011 will not receive changes in the technical part. The car will go on sale in the summer of 2019, and the debut will take place in January at the Detroit Motor Show.
As a power unit will be offered no alternative 2.0-liter engine, capable of developing up to 174 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque. Drive, of course, only the front.
In addition, the new product will get a re-tuned suspension in the direction of its softening. This will make the car more comfortable, but less manageable. Judging by the spy photos of the camouflaged prototype, the Passat 2020 model year will adopt some modern design solutions of the concern. The image will still remain strict, but will add swift and sharp features.
What is known for sure is the 100% appearance of a new multimedia system with an 8-inch display, as well as LED headlights and rear optics, active safety systems, and adaptive cruise control will be present in the database.
Meanwhile, the Volkswagen electric line will be quite extensive, and now it has become known about the upcoming flagship I.D. Lounge.
