The new generation of Genesis G80 sedan will appear next yearAugust 20, 2018
The Korean manufacturer brought out a prototype of the second generation G80 for road tests. And although the premiere of the sedan will not be earlier than 2019, already now under the camouflage film you can see some details of the exterior. Photos published a foreign Internet portal Motor Authority.
In 2015, Hyundai formed an independent brand Genesis, and almost a year later he introduced the car as an essence being an updated version of the Hyundai Genesis. But the second generation of the sedan will be completely different from the first, although it is possible that it was built on the upgraded platform of its predecessor.
Under the camouflage, you can guess the hiding narrow headlights, an enlarged polygonal radiator grille with a corner below, made in the Genesis Essentia style. This concept car company showed in March. In addition, the car is characterized by a smoother roofline and exterior mirrors with fastenings on the door.
The current Genesis G80 is offered with three engines: petrol V6 3.3 and 3.6 liters and five-liter V8. But given that the Koreans are now actively engaged in the electrification of cars, we can assume that, if not fully electric, the hybrid power plant in the engine line will appear. This was hinted at by the main designer of the brand Luc Doneckervolke.
A hybrid version is also expected for the Genesis crossover, both models are expected to be shown in the second half of 2019. The G80 will go on sale as a model of 2020.
In the meantime, analysts on the basis of a regular car market research have revealed that most buyers are satisfied with Genesis brand cars. It was they who managed to move the German Porsche to the second position.
