There are details about the restyled Raptor F-150 and F-150.

Note that before the announcement of the coronavirus pandemic, which had a significant negative impact on the automotive sector, the American company Ford announced its intention to release an update for its two models – Raptor F-150 and F-150, which should appear next year.

The transition to the aluminum body for the latest generation of SUVs was a monumental enterprise, requiring significant re-equipment of production facilities and body shops. This time the company will not take drastic steps.

The updated F-150 will retain the same shape, but with a revised front end design and new headlights. In addition, other taillights will appear, but in general this redesign is more like an update in the middle of a cycle than a generational transformation.

Changes should be more obvious inside. Trying to catch up with Ram’s high-end interiors, Ford Limited, King Ranch and Platinum models will include more premium materials and touch points. The SUV will receive an 8.0-inch infotainment display as standard, while an additional 15.5-inch screen adopts square proportions, which is an obstacle for the Instagram generation. Both work on the brand’s latest software, Sync 4.

The engine range will include five new engines transferred from the current F-150. So, the lineup will include a 5.0-liter engine and four V6 engines, including two turbo engines: a 2.7-liter and a 3.5-liter, a 3.0-liter turbodiesel and a 3.3-liter naturally aspirated engine. All work with a 10-speed transmission.

Ford will also offer the first hybrid plug in the half-ton truck market with an electric motor. The range of electric traction will be over 16 km, but only when driving without load .. Having received $ 500 million investment in Rivian, Ford will also introduce an electric truck a few years after the launch of the F-150. We expect it to be based on the Rivian multi-engine platform with independent rear suspension.

Since many automakers are currently postponing or suspending development programs, debut and sales dates, the dates for the official presentation of US innovations may also change.
