The new compact Kia crossover was first noticed in testsNovember 14, 2019
KIA began testing a new subcompact crossover, whose length is less than 4 meters.
Previously, the new model was seen on Indian roads, and now the cross has again hit the camera lenses in one of the South Korean parking lots.
Reliable information about the car, of course, is still little – only the index (QYI) is known, under which they test it. However, something can be understood by size.
Judging by the fact that the length of the crossover is not more than 4 meters, it should become the most compact and budget SUV in the lineup of the Japanese brand, competing with the Hyundai Venue model.
It is still difficult to examine the appearance in detail due to camouflage, but even through it it is noticeable that the novelty will be almost identical to the Venue “brother” in both size and body proportions. In addition, KIA QYI will acquire the original grille “tiger smile” and rectangular taillights.
Regarding the engine line, it will most likely include at least 3 engines: a 115-horsepower atmospheric power unit of 1.5 liters MPI, a 120-horsepower T-GDI turbo engine (volume not disclosed) and a CRDi turbo diesel engine of 1 5 liter capacity 115 hp Power plants, for sure, will work together with a simple 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-band “robot” with dual clutch.
The most compact and cheapest crossover KIA may debut next year at the Auto Expo in India.
