Chevrolet launches Suburban off-road Z71

In the American Chevrolet configurator, a special version of the Suburban Z71 appeared, focused on off-road. Full-size SUVs with the Z71 package are available only with V8 5.3 and 6.2 gasoline engines, differ from the usual Suburban decor and BF Goodrich mud tires. Prices start at $ 63,195.

All Chevrolet Suburban Z71 packages are equipped with all-wheel drive transmission, 10-speed automatic transmission and dual-band transfer case. The wheels are uncontested: SUVs are shod in 20-inch alloy wheels and BF Goodrich tires.

Externally, the off-road version is easily distinguished by the absence of chrome on the radiator grille, Chevrolet logos and window trim, red towing hooks, as well as on the Z71 nameplates on the front wings. Other features – Hill Descent Control descent assistance is included as standard, with a coarser air filter.

For a surcharge, the Suburban Z71 can be equipped with additional options: for example, the Signature Package for $ 4,785 includes a panoramic sunroof with electric power, front and rear parking sensors, a refined cooling system, heated and powered steering wheels, and heated rear seats.

As standard, the Suburban Z71 is equipped with a 5.3-liter 359-horsepower (519 Nm) gasoline V8, but the SUV can also be equipped with a flagship 6.2-liter eight-cylinder engine with 420 horsepower and 624 Nm of torque.

In the United States, prices for the Chevrolet Suburban Z71 5.3 V8 will start from $ 63,195, a richly equipped Suburban Z71 with a 6.2-liter engine will cost about $ 70 thousand. For comparison, the base rear-wheel drive Suburban is estimated at $ 52,995, and a fully equipped Suburban High Country with air suspension costs $ 86,465
