The pickup Chevrolet Silverado HD will get integrated steps and improved traction characteristics.

The company Chevrolet revealed information about the heavy pickup Silverado HD, which will debut in February next year. The novelty will be the most advanced model in the history of the brand, will receive an integrated Bedstep treads and a diesel V8, issuing 1234 Nm of torque.

The new Silverado HD is almost completely different from the younger Silverado 1500 – only the roof of the cars is common. Externally, the pickup looks like a part of some kind of heavy equipment, and it was for such visual perception that the designers were striving.

Gamma engines consists of a gasoline engine, combined with a six-speed transmission, and a 6.6-liter Duramax diesel engine. It produces 1234 Nm of torque and is paired with Allison 10-speed automatic transmission.

Because of the height of the loading platform, the Silverado HD had to be equipped with Bedstep footboards. The pickup has increased the load capacity and the maximum allowable towed trailer weight, but accurate data has not yet been reported. The current Silverado 2500HD is capable of carrying up to 1466 kilograms of cargo, and the 3500HD – 2613 kilograms. Maximum trailer weight is up to 9571 kilograms.

Among the main competitors Silverado HD – Ford Super Duty. The pickup is equipped with a 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel with a capacity of 456 hp (1,268 Nm of torque) and can carry up to 3,465 kilograms of cargo. The mass of the trailer with an S-shaped knee is 15.9 tons. The capacity of the Ram 2500 c 6.7 Cummins is 1216 kilograms (1783 for the Ram 3500), the maximum trailer weight is 7988 (13 943) kilograms.
