Spanish automotive manufacturer Seat intends to introduce a new generation of the charged hatchback Seat Ibiza Cupra at the international exhibition in Geneva in early March this year. However, his appearance is already declassified thanks to the CupraSport account in the social network Instagram, which published “live” photos of the novelty.

Let’s remind, that earlier company Seat presented a new subbrand Cupra under which will collect all powerful versions of the models. Therefore, this novelty will actually apply to Cupra.

Unlike the standard versions of the Seat Ibiza, the Cupra variant received a new bumper with a wider splitter, which is most likely made of carbon fiber. Also, the novelty has a different grille and a new spoiler over the trunk door. All external and internal Seat badges have been replaced with the Cupra.

In the salon you can see new elements: the steering wheel, the visor of the instrument panel, sports seats. Ibiza Cupra is inside the Volkswagen Group Concern similar to the VW Polo GTI. Therefore, the gearshift lever shown in the photos can refer to a six-speed robotic gearbox with a double clutch, like that of a colleague.

Probably under the hood is a two-liter petrol turbo TSI from a German hatchback with a power of 200 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. With it, the Polo GTI of the current generation accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.7 seconds, and the maximum speed is 237 km / h.

Also, the competitor of the new Seat Ibiza Cupra will be the Peugeot 208 GTi with a 1.6-liter turbo engine of similar capacity (200 hp).

Previously, Seat introduced Ibiza TGI, operating on natural gas.
