The new Cadillac CT5-V will receive a powerful version of the V8January 27, 2020
The upcoming high-performance version of the Cadillac CT5-V, whose name is not yet known, will receive the V8.
According to a foreign publication with reference to insider information, the special Cadillac CT5-V will receive the same engine as its predecessor. However, instead of the previously promised 550 hp. and 868 Nm of torque, which produces a 4.2-liter Twin-Turbo V8 in the latest CT6 -V, nicknamed the “Black Wing”, with a power of 640 hp. and 854 Nm will come from a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 powering the CTS-V.
Thus, the CT5-V top spec with high performance should be at least as powerful and fast as the best executive cars of Audi, BMW and Mercedes.
According to the C&D concept, the design of the TT V8 with two upper cams makes it higher and wider than the previous one, so it would not fit in the CT5-V engine compartment without extensive and costly modifications, so the manufacturer opted for a turbocharged engine instead of a turbocharger .
For those who are not ready to wait for a high-performance modification in the lineup, they will have to settle for a 3.0-liter Twin-Turbo V6 installed in the current CT5-V 2020 model year, which produces 360 hp. and 548 Nm of torque. In this regard, Cadillac is planning a more powerful version of the CT4-V, which can get a 3.6-liter twin-cylinder V6 ATS-V with 464 hp. and 603 Nm.
