The new BMW Z4: the first official photosJune 4, 2018
Spy pictures of the sports car appeared in early 2016, but only now the first official images appeared. However, on them the body of the car too is hidden under camouflage.
By the way, the teaser is not a typical test prototype, but the top model is the BMW Z4 M40i, as the release of the “charged” version of the Z4 M from the new generation roadster is not planned. Sportcar is built on the basis of the eponymous concept, debuting in the summer of 2017 at the elegance contest at Pebble Beach.
BMW is not yet in a hurry to disclose details, but it is already known that the Z4 will have a new “extremely powerful” in-line six-cylinder engine. The M40i will also include a sports M braking system, a sports suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers, and an electronically controlled rear axle differential lock, as the true sports car is supposed to.
Pictures of the new Z4 were made at the French Miramas circuit, where BMW is testing pre-series prototypes Z4, carrying out the final tuning of the engine and suspension.
Let’s remind, model BMW Z4 of the first generation was issued with 2002 for 2008. Sport car was offered in two types of body – roadster E85 and from 2006 coupe E86. The second-generation sports car was produced from 2009 to 2016 and was only available in the back of the E89 roadster with a hard top. The last roadster Z4 came off the assembly line of the German plant in Regensburg in August 2016.
The closest premiere of the Bavarian brand should be the revived flagship BMW 8 Series coupe.
