The new BMW M5 Competition Package will receive 625 hpJanuary 24, 2018
If 600 hp for you a little, wait until April, when the conveyor will get a more “hot” version of the M5.
The web appeared pleasant for fans of the Bavarian charged sedan BMW M5 news. One of the users of the forum Bimmer Post said that the package of Competition, confirmed earlier for the model, is just around the corner. If BMW was informed about the debut in 2018, now there is information about the beginning of April.
This was announced by the head of the BMW Driving Experience program during the BMW M Ice Experience event in Sweden. The message was published by an old member of the forum and with reference to the current source in the company, so there is no reason not to trust him.
But, one more important news about the Competition Package was the information about the optional kit, which increases the capacity of the bi-turbo V8 capacity of 4.4 liters per 25 hp. That is, the more hot M5 with increased to 625 hp capacity will surpass the Mercedes-AMG with its 603-horsepower E 63S. About the increase in torque, nothing is said, but, probably, it will also grow slightly from the standard 750 Nm.
In addition, as part of the Competition package there will be several upgrades, oriented to track driving. We can assume that we are talking about standard carbon-ceramic brakes, a more “sharp” chassis and more rigid suspension settings. Probably, customers will still be available exclusive designs of wheels and some changes in the cabin.
It is possible that the new BMW M5 Competition Package will be presented in March at the Geneva Motor Show. On the price is still unknown. By the way, the “charged” sedan of the new generation got into the conveyor belt in early December of last year, although prices for the Russian market were announced back in November.
