The new Bentley Bentayga spotted on tests in tricky camouflageJune 3, 2020
The British brand began testing a prototype of the updated crossover.
Several months have passed since the prototype of the new Bentley Bentayga was shown on the Web, but it had the same black coating as the next prototype. At first glance, the muscular SUV looks more or less identical to the current model, but the keen eye will see stickers and coatings around the oval headlights. Looking down, there are also stickers and a few fake panels on the bottom panel that hide Bentley changes.
We do not expect these changes to be extraordinary as this update is mid-cycle. But we expect that the headlights will be slightly smaller and the lower grille will be more pronounced. Corresponding changes in the lines of the body on the wings and the hood will combine everything into a single redesign.
The same applies to the rear of the Bentayga, where a black ribbon is clearly visible at the base of the D-pillar and around the rear door. Thanks to the taillight graphics, the lenses look huge, but in reality we expect to find thinner lenses under them.
One area that we have yet to catch is the interior. Something happens inside, as we see the covers visible through the side windows. As with the outside, the changes inside should be slight, but noticeable. The large touch screen is almost guaranteed, and a digital instrument cluster is expected to arrive. Transmission options should be carried forward, although the W12 may see some changes to make it a little more fuel pump friendly.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the plans of the auto companies have shifted and the British brand is no exception, so it’s hard to say when the updated Bentayga will be released. This should happen sometime before the end of the year.
