The RS6 wagon will be released next year.

The automaker Audi has planned to release a charged model RS6 next year. Probably, like its predecessor, it will be offered only in the body wagon. However, in China, the demand for a universal body type is falling. Therefore, it is impossible to exclude the appearance of the RS6 sedan. This is reported by the German edition Autobild with reference to the company’s insiders.

According to the publication, the Audi RS6 of the new generation will be equipped with an upgraded 4.0-liter turbo-charged TFSI engine with a capacity of 605 horsepower. That’s 45 bhp more than the previous RS6 and as much as the RS6 Performance of 2017. It is expected that acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h will be reduced to 3.5 seconds.

This engine was developed in conjunction with the company Porsche within the Volkswagen Group. It is already installed on the Panamera. Also it is under the hood of the new super-crossover Lamborghini Urus, in which it develops 650 hp. and 850 Nm of torque.

Audi intentionally leaves room for improvements in the characteristics of the new RS6 motor. A little later will be released version of RS6 Performance. And here it is necessary to expect a power level of 650 hp. and 800 Nm. Thus, it will leave behind the main competitor – Mercedes-AMG E 63 S with 612 hp. In addition, chief designer Audi Mark Lichte previously confirmed that the RS7 will be offered in two versions. It’s about Performance.

Earlier there were rumors that the new Audi RS6 could get a 680-horsepower hybrid from Panamera.
