The new Audi RS6 can get a 680-horsepower hybrid from PanameraMarch 4, 2018
The first image of the novelty has already appeared on the web.
The designer under the name AscarissDesign presented his vision of the charged versatile person Audi RS6 on the rendered image.
In the new generation Audi A6, most likely, the station wagon will still remain the only type of body that will receive the RS version.
At the heart of his render, the designer used already published photos of the A6 sedan. The front part repeats the four-door body except the bumper with a more aggressive design. It received air intakes of increased sizes with decorative patches.
Also, the grille has a new honeycomb structure, the RS logo, and the Quattro inscription appears in its lower part. Traditionally, the new RS6 has larger diameter wheels than the A6. Probably, it will be a diameter of 21 inches.
It is rumored that the next-generation Audi RS6, which will compete with the Mercedes-AMG E63 Estate, will borrow a hybrid powerplant from the Porsche Panamera S-E Hybrid. It consists of a four-liter turbocharged V8 motor, an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 14.1 kW. The total power is 680 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. This is significantly higher than the AMG E63 S Estate (603 hp).
Perhaps, specially for RS6, the power of the hybrid plug-in will be lowered to comply with the ranking of brands within the Volkswagen Group.
Before the release of the new Audi RS6, the manufacturer will present a 450-strong version of the S6, which will be launched next year. RS6 will belong already to the 2020 model year, and its premiere may take place in the fall of 2019. Next week in Geneva will be the public debut of the new generation Audi A6.
