The new Audi A6 allroad has become a soft hybrid.June 5, 2019
Audi has introduced the fourth-generation all-terrain wagon A6 allroad. The novelty already in the database received an adaptive air suspension with special calibrations and several driving profiles, on which the vehicle’s ground clearance depends.
The main visual difference of the A6 allroad from the usual A6 Avant is a plastic body kit around the perimeter of the car. The wheel arches were originally painted gray, but for a surcharge they can be made in body color or painted in glossy black. The grille with aluminum vertical bars – like the latest Audi crossovers. Seat trim can be a combination (fabric / leather) or Valcona perforated leather.
Audi A6 allroad standard ground clearance is 139 millimeters. In Offroad mode, at a speed of up to 80 kilometers per hour, the body lifts another 30 millimeters, and when it reaches 120 kilometers per hour it drops to 124 millimeters. The maximum for the universal 184 millimeters are only available in Lift mode at speeds up to 35 kilometers per hour. In addition, the A6 allroad is equipped with off-road assistance systems for descending and controlling the tilt of the body in the longitudinal and transverse directions.
Under the hood there is only a three-liter diesel engine with three options of forcing and a hybrid superstructure in the form of a belt-driven starter-generator and a 48-volt battery. Version 45 TDI provides 231 power (500 Nm of torque), 50 TDI – 286 forces (620 Nm of torque), 55 TDI – 349 hp and 700 Nm of torque. All units are combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. For an extra charge, an active rear differential and a fully-operated chassis are available.
Sales of the new Audi A6 allroad in Germany and other European countries will begin this month. Price – from 61 500 euros
