The new Audi A3 will be presented on March 3January 30, 2020
On March 3, Audi is preparing to introduce its compact A3 car as an updated competitor to the Mercedes A-Class.
It is only about the A3 Sportback, as the sedan arrives later. It is known that this time Audi will not have a three-door version, as well as its cousin-hatchbacks from Wolfsburg and Martorell, which now come exclusively in a five-door version. Reduced demand for compact hatchbacks without rear doors forced Volkswagen to turn off the less practical Golf. The latest Renault Megane hatchback is also a five-door car.
It is likely that we will see the new Audi A3 Sportback during the night preview of the Volkswagen Group, right before the start of the Geneva Motor Show in 2020, at which the chic hatchback from Ingolstadt will celebrate its public debut. When all coatings have been removed, the exterior design will evolve and become the benchmark for the latest Audi products. The dashboard, as seen in the weekly-old S3 Sportback spy shots, will undergo significant changes.
Considering that although a new hatchback was discovered a couple of days ago, it was almost completely hidden under camouflage, the premiere will not take place in Switzerland with the A3. It seems that the debut will have to wait patiently until Audi presents its answer to the Mercedes-AMG A35 and BMW M135i. As for the flagship RS3, the “little monster” with five cylinders will appear later as a competitor to the duo from Affalterbach A45 and A45 S.
In conclusion, it is worth noting that the current Audi A3 was the first car to use the MQB platform when it debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2012. For the next wave of compact cars, the A3 will be an updated member of the family.
