The network turned the image of a new generation of high-performance VW Golf GTIOctober 28, 2019
A powerful version of the German hatchback model year 2021 will be shown next year. This render was published by designers from the X-Tomi Design team.
After a long advertising campaign, the German brand finally presented its compact Golf 8 generation hatchback to the generation – it happened last week at a special event organized in Wolfsburg, Germany. We have already seen the plug-in hybrid version of the new product, which received the GTE index in the name. The engine power in this performance of the car is 245 hp, which is about the same as that of the high-performance Golf 7 GTI Performance. But there is no doubt that VW engineers will definitely present a “charged” version of the new generation Golf in the near future and there will definitely be no place for an electric motor in it.
According to insiders, a more productive GTI should be introduced in 2020, then VW will also show a performance-oriented GTI TCR, as well as a version of the “charged” GTD hatchback running on diesel fuel. The presentation of the all-wheel drive Golf R is scheduled for next year.
This render shows what the eighth generation VW Golf GTI might look like – designers from the X-Tomi Design team were involved in creating the image. Compared with the usual performance of the new items, the “charged” version of the model received only minor changes.
More than 40 years have passed since the advent of the original Golf GTI, and since then VW has not stopped perfecting this high-performance model. It is expected that the eighth iteration of the “charged” hatchback will receive a 2.0 TSI engine, the power of which in the performance of TCR (use on the racetrack) will be in the range from 250 to 290 hp
