The Japanese automaker announced a new version for the Toyota Corolla 2021 sedan model year. The novelty, called Apex Edition, will be released in a circulation of 6,000 copies.
Last year, Toyota provided the Camry and Avalon sedans with a full range of modifications from TRD (Toyota Racing Development). Among other things, the cars received large wheels, spoilers and improved brakes. Now, the turn has reached the Corolla sedan, only this model received not the “full-weight” version from TRD, but the sported special edition Toyota Corolla Apex Edition.
In total, 6,000 new items will be released.
Basic on the SE and XSE trim levels, the Apex Edition is equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine rated for 169 horsepower (205 Nm), which will be combined with either a continuously variable transmission or a six-speed manual transmission.
While Toyota engineers made no changes to the sedan’s power plant, the Apex Edition promises to be more dynamic. The sedan is 1.52 cm lower to the ground thanks to unique coil springs with internal bounce dampers. The stiffness of the front suspension is 47%, and the rear – 33%. According to the assurances of the brand, the sedan would be better off in turns.
Corolla Apex Edition has a specially designed aerodynamic body kit, a rear spoiler and bronze accents throughout the body. Black-plated 18-inch wheels are also common to the Apex Edition and are slightly lighter than the regular kit. Customers can also choose from a pair of two-tone exterior colors – Cement and Super White with a black roof – or choose a Black Sand Pearl shade.
Inside the Corolla SE Apex Edition you will find manually adjustable fabric seats, while the XSE Apex Edition offers a more pleasing faux leather finish with eight-way adjustment and lumbar support. Both versions of the car will receive a standard 8.0-inch touch screen infotainment system with the ability to connect services Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. No word on how much the Corolla Apex Edition costs.
Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that Toyota introduced the Camry 2021 sedan model year. The Japanese automaker announced the Toyota Camry business class sedan in the 2021 version of the model year. The car received an updated set of safety systems Safety Sense 2.5, and also a plug-in hybrid version of XSE.
