A new batch of “spyware” snapshots allows us to see in great detail the updated BMW M2 CS, a more powerful version of the high-performance coupe. The car looks spectacular.
BMW engineers hold the prototype of the “charged” coupe M2 in the CS version under a fairly light camouflage – the only hidden sections are the front splitter and spoiler located on the trunk lid. In general, all elements of the exterior of the car correspond to those that were on the previous “spy” pictures of other auto prototypes, which indicates that engineers are more likely to no longer change the appearance of their new product.
A recent data breach suggests that the upcoming M2 CS will get a 445-horsepower 6-cylinder turbocharged inline engine.
Customers will be able to choose as a transmission as a manual transmission, and automatic with double clutch. A carbon fiber roof will be standard – this is done to reduce the overall weight and adjust the center of gravity. Carbon-ceramic brake discs will also be offered to buyers.
The M2 CS will only be available in four colors: sapphire black, alpine white, hockenheim silver and misano blue. In all variants, the interior will be only black. Current information suggests that the new M2 CS will go into production in March 2020. This date indicates his world debut in the second half of 2019.
BMW is reportedly planning to release a Track Cup version, intended only for use on racetracks. Probably, such a car will weigh less, get a revised suspension and power in the region of 470 hp
