The network has the first shot of the interior of the new Hyundai i20February 26, 2020
South Korean corporation has published a debut photo of the interior of the third generation i20. Compared to its predecessors, the interior has changed dramatically: it is worth noting the presence of a new steering wheel, a virtual dashboard, a 10.25-inch display of the multimedia system and contour lighting.
Conceptually, the interior of the i20 resembles the saloon of an eighth-generation Sonata sedan: the novelties have the same 4-spoke steering wheel, 10.25-inch screens of a digital dashboard and infotainment system combined in a single unit, as well as a similar duct architecture.
The main difference is the design of the air conditioning unit. On Sonata, separate climate control is carried out by the washer, while on i20 a simpler circuit with temperature and airflow intensity selectors is used.
With the change of generations, the hatchback received better finishing materials, a Bose audio system with 7 speakers, and wireless charging for a smartphone. The graphics of the drawn instrument scales change depending on the choice of driving mode, and the multimedia complex has an 8-inch touch screen and supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The novelty will receive a 1.0-liter “turbo engine” with a capacity of 100 or 120 hp, and also an atmospheric engine 1.2 with a return of 84 hp. Together with the base unit, a 5-speed manual transmission will work, and with turbo engines, a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-band “robot”. The flagship variation will be offered, including with a hybrid powertrain.
Hyundai i20 will debut at the Geneva auto show. Most likely, there the company will announce the start date of sales and the cost of the model.
