The company Geely is preparing to bring to the global market a new model of the crossover SX11. Judging by the photos, the interior feature was multimedia with a “soaring” screen, applied for the first time in the entire model line of the company.
The global version of the new crossover Geely SX11 is preparing for a public debut. And photos of the exterior we saw last week. Now the press service has decided to completely declassify the interior design of the future novelty.
So, the main feature of the new crossover was its infotainment system with a large touch screen (at least 12 inches). Particularly in this model, the company decided for the first time to apply a “soaring” display, towering above the front panel. In addition, the salon stands out completely electronic instrument panel, as well as a steering wheel with a truncated bottom and leather trim (possibly made of artificial leather).
The SX11 crossover is a truly new model built on a specially designed platform that will form the basis for the future line of cars. BMA (B-segment Modular Architecture) is a platform intended for cars of class B, but will be applied on completely different segments. According to the company, this platform is designed to compete with similar developments from Volkswagen – MQB.
The company also claims that the platform is fully developed by Geely’s own engineers. True, analysts believe that some of the developments from Volvo and the more representative CMA platform (Compact Modular Architecture of joint development) have been moved to a more accessible option. The CMA architecture is based on the Volvo XC40 and the Lynk & Co models (the joint project of Geely and Volvo).
Under the hood of the future crossover will be installed turbo engine with a working volume of 1.5 liters and a maximum power of up to 177 horsepower and 255 Nm of torque. This unit is borrowed from Volvo. In pair with it the robotized transmission with a double clutch on seven steps works.
Unfortunately, it remains a mystery that the SX11 will be equipped with an all-wheel drive system. But it is already known that later the car will be offered with a hybrid system, details of which have not yet been disclosed.
Sales in the home market will start before the end of this year, and only in 2019 will shipments to other countries, but which are not yet reported.
