Journalists captured the updated version of the American SUV Jeep Wagoneer. It is worth noting that this is our very first look at the long-awaited new product. The presentation of the car is scheduled for 2020.

After many years of rumors about the long-awaited appearance of a completely new version of the Jeep Wagoneer SUV, we finally got the first “spy” photos of a prototype, an updated car. Unfortunately, at this stage of testing, the prototype seen is covered with a dense layer of camouflage film, because of which we can not see its updated exterior.

Spy photos of the Jeep Wagoneer show a large SUV hiding under a thick black camouflage that distorts its real body shape. The headlights and taillights are respectively closed, as is the false radiator grille. At the moment, there are no pictures of the interior of the SUV. It is known that the new Jeep Wagoneer is based on the Ram 1500 pickup, so it may well get some interior elements from this truck.

Under the hood, the updated Wagoneer should have a 3.6-liter V6, paired with a 48-volt soft Ram hybrid system. Perhaps the appearance of a 5.7-liter V8 unit manufactured by Ram.

Jeep is preparing to release two models named Wagoneer – the entry-level Wagoneer and the larger Grand Wagoneer. While the standard three-row Wagoneer will compete with the Ford Expedition and GMC Yukon, the Grand Wagoneer will compete with the same crossovers as the Lincoln Navigator and Land Rover Range Rover. Expect both to be competitively priced.

The updated Jeep Wagoneer SUV should debut in mid-2020 – maybe we will see the car at the Detroit auto show, soon after that we should be shown the Grand Wagoneer. Both Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer should go on sale as cars in the 2021 model year.

Not so long ago, our publication wrote that the Internet showed a vintage Jeep Wagoneer with a 700-horsepower V8 Hellcat. Tuning studio Black Mountain Conversions introduced the modernized 30-year-old Jeep Grand Wagoneer. The SUV got a 6.4-liter V8 Hellcat engine. Other components of the machine have not been changed.
