The network has an image of the updated minivan Kia SedonaMay 31, 2020
Based on existing spy shots, experts from Carscoops developed a render of the upcoming novelty.
Judging by the picture, Sedona will receive a small clearance that will give the car not only a modern style, but also improve driving dynamics. A branded radiator grille of the Korean Tiger Nose brand with narrow LED headlights will appear in front.
Interestingly, on the side of the novelty it will not differ much from the current model, and the C-shaped rack resembles the latest GM SUVs. Behind should establish dimensional LED lights. At the same time, some configurations will receive lower black sections of the bumper and contrasting silver accents.
As for the interior of the minivan, high-quality plastic, Nappa leather and chrome inserts will be used for its decoration. In particular, a digital dashboard is expected here, visually integrated with a multimedia system.
Under assumptions, the 7- and 8-seater layout will remain on the novelty, while the space of the third row will increase. The front seats and second-row seats will receive ventilation and heating. In particular, passengers will have access to wireless charging, WiFi, a monitor, a premium Harman / Kardon audio system and another rear infotainment complex.
The new Sedona also boasts driver assistance systems such as automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane keeping and Rear Occupant Alert technology.
As regards the technical equipment of the new product, several assumptions are put forward here. Some experts expect that the Sedona will receive a 3.3-liter 276-horsepower V6 engine and a 2.2-liter CRDi turbodiesel. Others say that the updated Sedona will be equipped with a 4-cylinder 2.5-liter engine from the new Sorento. And this is quite possible, since a restyled minivan will share the platform with this particular model.
The car can get a 1.6-liter hybrid power unit with a capacity of 227 hp, along with which an all-wheel drive system and an 8-speed automatic transmission with double clutch will function.
The main competitors of the upcoming news are the new Toyota Sienna, Chrysler Pacifica, Honda Odyssey and Dodge Grand Caravan. Initially, the new Sedona was planned to be shown at the New York Auto Show, but it was recently canceled, now Kia is going to organize the presentation of the “Korean” version of the minivan this summer, and then an option for North America. Sales should start at the beginning of 2021.
