The network got fresh spy photos of the hybrid Mercedes-AMG GT 73February 20, 2020
Auto experts are waiting for the debut this year already. And before the official premiere, fans of the brand can partially satisfy their curiosity with the help of spy shots.
In 2001, Mercedes and AMG removed the 73 badge, discontinuing the rare SL 73 roadster, equipped with the same 7.3-liter V12 engine as the Pagani Zonda. After almost two decades, the badge “73” still decided to revive the new flagship version of the GT. Spy photos of the camouflaged news are published by the foreign portal motor1.com. The prototype of the electrified rival Porsche Panamera is in many ways similar to the GT 63 S. If you look closely, you can see the charging port cover, similar to other Mercedes PHEVs.
Recall that three years ago, at a motor show in Geneva, the German automaker presented the GT 4-Door Coupe concept on the GT Concept. The show car was equipped with an 805-horsepower hybrid, which included a powerful V8 and an electric engine. After that, the media received confirmation that an electrified power plant will be offered in the road model. Its dynamic characteristics have not yet been disclosed.
Even with less than 800 hp the impact of the new installation will be significantly greater than that of the GT 63 S with its performance of 630 hp.
