The most unusual Tesla ready for productionJune 12, 2020
Tesla is preparing to launch the Semi electric truck series, a prototype of which was introduced back in 2017. The head of the company, Ilon Musk, sent a letter to his employees stating that it was time to send the new product to the conveyor, since it was ready for production.
According to the e-mail, the production of batteries and power plants for this car will be established at the company’s factory in Nevada, but other components will be produced at other enterprises. At the same time, the models will be fully assembled at the new plant, which has yet to be built.
Tesla did not name the exact launch date of the model, but earlier this year the company announced that the Semi would appear in 2021 (although it was originally planned for 2019). Obviously, these deadlines remain.
Note that Tesla Semi should become the most unusual Tesla electric car and truck in the world. The tractor will be able to accelerate to 100 kph in 5 seconds and tow a trailer weighing 36 tons. There are two versions to choose from – with a range of 480 and 800 km. The car will cost around 150-200 thousand dollars.
