The most powerful crossover in the world will add horsepowerOctober 17, 2020
American tuning studio Hennessey took on the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat
Texas-based Hennessey Performance aims to make the world’s most powerful production crossover, the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat, even more powerful and faster.
For the first time in its model, the full-size crossover Dodge Durango of the third generation acquired the SRT Hellcat version with a 720-horsepower compressor V8 and overtook even the sister Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk in power. Thanks to a 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 engine, the car accelerates from standstill to 60 miles (96 kilometers) per hour in just 3.5 seconds and a quarter mile drag in 11.5 seconds. And for those to whom these values do not seem convincing, the most powerful crossover in the world will add horsepower.
The Texas-based Hennessey atelier has developed a package of improvements for the Durango SRT Hellcat called the HPE1000: a new “compressor” with increased capacity, an upgraded intake system and a throttle valve, and revised software for the engine control unit. With it, the power of the crossover rises to 1027 horsepower, but how much faster the car will become after such tuning has not yet been reported. The cost of the modifications is also unknown. The stock Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat costs $ 81,000.
