The most expensive SUV in the world looks like a betmobileNovember 12, 2019
The chief designer who created the unusual appearance of the most expensive SUV in the world decided to talk about what inspired him on the Karlmann King project.
What is your general opinion about asymmetrical style cars? Yes, we are talking, for example, about the South Korean first generation Hyundai Veloster hatchback or about the Karlmann King SUV. If you are the first to hear about the latter, then get ready to spend five minutes with the car, which today is called the most expensive SUV in the world.
A new video from the Bacroft Cars YouTube channel details some of the features of the car and introduces us to its designer Luciano D’Ambrosio. The latter explains that the inspiration for creating the look of the giant SUV comes from the Batmobile, which is featured in the Batman trilogy. The design style in which the car was created, Mr. D’Ambrosio describes as “diamond design.”
A shocking SUV is built on the basis of a Ford F-550 pickup truck, and under its hood is a powerful 6.8-liter V10 engine with 420 horsepower. Earlier it was reported that the maximum speed of the SUV is only 140 km / h due to its weight, which is more than 5 896 kilograms. But according to Luciano D’Ambrosio, the car can easily accelerate to 220 km / h.
“Given the size of the car, you can imagine that you are driving an elephant,” the designer explains. “But, in fact, the SUV turned out to be very dynamic and enjoyable to drive.”
And now for the price of Karlmann King. To justify the title of the most expensive SUV in the world, King has set a price tag on his car at around 1,085 million dollars. For this money you can buy only the “basic” version. The most sophisticated performance of the machine costs more than 3 million dollars.
