The most expensive crossovers were driven into real off-road: what came of itOctober 11, 2020
The YouTube channel SUV Battle has put the most expensive crossovers of our time under off-road tests. Seven premium SUV models participated in the test, and each of them showed itself in its own way on the off-road.
So, as follows from the video, the following models came out “to the original”: Audi Q7 / Q8, BMW X5 / X6, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Lexus RX 350, Range Rover Sport, Mercedes GLE, and Volvo XC90. These are truly the most expensive and best cars of their kind. They have large dimensions, powerful engines, advanced electronic assistants and excellent driving characteristics. However, if all these qualities help them well on the asphalt, then outside the roads the picture is somewhat different.
And here’s what the test showed. Jeep Grand Cherokee passed the obstacle quickly and easily, so he soon left the battle as the winner. But the rest of the cars had a hard time – due to a combination of difficult conditions and large mass, they lacked traction and power. The only surprise was the BMW X6, which made its way off-road better than the X5, as well as the Audi Q8 – it also overcame the obstacle quite easily. The most powerful Range Rover, as expected, drove off-road confidently and calmly, the Volvo XC90 “got out” for a long time and finally managed to cross the finish line, but Lexus gave up almost immediately. The Mercedes GLE was also tough, but in the end it overcame the difficulties.
