The International Auto Show, which will take place in the capital of China in just a few days, is perhaps the most anticipated automotive event of the year, as it is the only auto show in 2020.
The Beijing Auto Show will open its doors on September 26, 2020 in compliance with measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Beijing will attract almost all well-known car brands this year, including Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Peugeot, Citroen, Ford, Lincoln, Volvo, Jaguar Land Rover, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Hyundai, KIA and a lot others. All of them are preparing to present a huge number of their new products.
Nissan will showcase its latest achievements at the auto show, including the Nissan Ariya crossover, modeled after the concept of the same name. The electric SUV will be available in front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, with various battery versions, and one or a pair of 215 and 389 hp electric motors. respectively. The latter option, by the way, will be able to travel up to 483 km on a single charge. The Nissan Ariya will first go on sale at home in 2021, and then will arrive in the United States for an estimated $ 40,000.
Nissan will also showcase the Nissan GT-R50 from Italdesign at its booth, a limited edition model created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Nissan GT-R. In addition, the company will showcase several models with intelligent ProPilot technology, and will also offer a simulator to test the latest Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies.
BMW will unveil a restyled version of the BMW 5-Series in Beijing, as well as a new hybrid version with a 48-volt starter-generator. With the update, the model range will be joined by the 530i with 248 hp, the 540i with 335 hp, the M550i with 523 hp. and a 288 hp plug-in hybrid 530e. All models are equipped with rear-wheel drive or xDrive all-wheel drive system.
The BMW 530e gets a significant boost in power from a 107bhp electric motor integrated into the ZF’s 8-speed automatic transmission. In addition, the 530e is equipped with a new high-capacity battery that provides up to 57 km of electric range, and plug-in all-wheel drive.
The public is eagerly awaiting the debut of the new minivan from KIA, which was presented online in mid-August. The Kia Carnival will be available with three and four rows of seats for 7, 8 or 11 passengers. The car has received very rich equipment, including a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and the same multimedia display with touch controls. Carnival’s performance will be powered by a 3.5-liter petrol engine with 294 and 272 hp, and a 2.2-liter diesel with 202 hp, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
