The most American Alfa Romeo will be sold at auctionApril 7, 2020
In October this year, the Sotheby’s auction house is going to sell 240 cars that are part of the Elkhart Collection. It mainly consists of British and Italian sports cars, as well as models that have already become classics. Among them – Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale Zagato, often referred to as “the most American” Alpha “.
And all due to the fact that the TZ3 Stradale Zagato, produced by the centennial of the brand with a circulation of 9 units, repeats the Dodge Viper ACR from the technical side. The coupe is equipped with a V10 8.4 power unit with a capacity of 610 hp. (760 Nm). The engine operates in conjunction with the 6-speed manual transmission Tremec. The machine is also equipped with KW springs and adjustable shock absorbers, Stop Tech brake discs with Brembo calipers and a differential lock GKN Viscolock.
The design of the road version of the model was developed by Norihiko Harada, who now works at Zagato. He created the appearance of the car, looking at the Tubolare Zagato of the 60s, for this reason the sports car got a rounded front part, headlights that were covered with glass caps, and a cut stern. For the manufacture of external panels TZ3 chose carbon fiber.
All 9 TZ3 Stradale cars were bought by collectors. Moreover, each of them costs more than 1,000,000 dollars. The machine, which will be on sale, is the sixth in a row. It was owned by only one owner, who drove about 340 km on it.
