The Japanese premium brand distributed a teaser of a new compact SUV.

The world premiere of a small crossover Lexus will take place in March this year at the Geneva Motor Show. The model was called UX. Recall, as early as in 2016, the Japanese presented the same conceptual SUV, so in Switzerland, most likely, debuts pre-series or even a commodity version of the cross. Details about the novelty are kept secret.

According to preliminary data, the Lexus UX will be the most affordable model in the SUV line of the brand. Today this role is played by cross NX. In addition, the UX crossover is designed partly to replace the failed on the market hybrid hatchback Lexus CT 200h. The main competitors of the novelty will be Mercedes-Benz GLA and Infiniti QX30.

It is expected that the new crossover Lexus will be offered with a two-liter engine with a payback of about 170 hp and with a hybrid plant with a combined capacity of about 178 hp. By the way, earlier the company registered the names of UX 200, UX 250 and UX 250h.

The list of countries in which the novelty will appear has not yet been published. The timing of the start of sales is likely to become known after a public premiere.

In addition to UX, Lexus will also bring to Geneva a luxury concept LF-1 Limitless all-terrain vehicle, the first show of which took place in January at the Detroit Motor Show, and the seven-seat RX L crossover and the special version of the RC F coupe dedicated to the 10th anniversary Division F, responsible for the release of “charged” brand models.
