The media announced the imminent debut of the new 350-horsepower coupe from MazdaAugust 31, 2019
It is known that the novelty will be based on a new rear-wheel drive platform, and its sale should not be expected before 2022. It will be possible to look at the new coupe already in October 2019.
The serial implementation of the Mazda Vision Coupe concept, shown back in 2017, will debut in October this year as part of the Tokyo International Motor Show. According to experts, Tokyo will show a car with a four-door coupe-style body layout. Sales of the production version of the Vision Coupe will begin no earlier than 2022. The novelty will finally return the option of a four-door rear-wheel drive sedan to the model line of the Japanese brand. According to forecasts by auto experts, a new three-liter engine with a proprietary compression ignition system and hybrid technology will be offered as a motor.
Also, Japanese media report that Mazda seeks to bring the power plant to 345 hp. The novelty will be made in the spirit of the RX – Vision concept, which was presented in 2015.
As for the new rear-wheel drive platform, then, in all likelihood, it can appear on Toyota cars. In the March report of Mazda, for the first time, mention was made of a six-cylinder in-line engine working with a “soft” hybrid. The launch of this technology was announced for 2020-2025. This time period corresponds to the expected date of the appearance of the new coupe.
