Apollo put Project P prototype on the roads
Apollo Automobil, which in 2014 acquired the brand De Tomaso, launched the prototype sports car with an internal designation Project P. The company’s management confirmed the work on the modern version of the iconic De Tomaso Pantera, but refused to give any additional comments on the project.
According to the British edition Evo, the brand De Tomaso and the new logo were registered in the middle of last year. Design is at the beginning of this. It is not yet known whether the new car will be a restaurant or a modernized version of an Italian sports car, but in the photos and videos the resemblance to the original is obvious. In addition, in 2019, De Tomaso celebrates its 60th anniversary, so that the coupe can be declassified very soon.
Apollo Automobil itself, formerly known as Gumpert, is part of the Chinese holding Consolidated Ideal TeamVenture. The first own model of the renamed brand is Intensa Emozione hypercar. The two-door with very aggressive aerodynamics is equipped with a 6.3-liter atmospheric V12 gasoline engine. Its power – 780 horsepower and 760 Nm of torque.
Ares Design, founded by former head of Lotus Dany Bahar, also tried to revive Pantera. Last January, the company unveiled a prototype Project Panther, built on the chassis of the Lamborghini Huracan and looks like a sports car from the 1970s. The car got LED headlights retractable in the front fenders and carbon fiber body panels.
