The main competitor of Tesla Model 3 enters the arena: prices and sales date are knownOctober 7, 2019
The long-announced electric car from Volvo and Geely under the Polestar brand is preparing to enter the market. The model with the “2” index has already received the official price tag, and pre-orders have been accepted. Deliveries will begin next June.
Polestar 2 is the main competitor for the “affordable” Tesla Model 3. They are very similar in price and performance. The cost of the model will start from 47,000 euros. But such a cost will only be for buyers from Norway. In the UK, the price tag starts from 56,000 euros, in Germany from 58,000 euros, in Belgium and the Netherlands from 60,000 euros, and the Swedes will have to pay from 61,000 euros.
In fairness, it is worth noting that the cost is inclusive of VAT, as well as pre-paid service for three years throughout the territory where the car is officially sold.
At the moment, the price is not published for the cheapest version, which should appear later. Initially, Polestar 2 will be offered only in a twin-engine layout with all-wheel drive. A 78 kW * hour battery is used as a power source, and the total power of electric motors will be 300 kW, which is equivalent to 408 horsepower.
Compared to the Tesla Model 3, the price tag varies depending on the place of sale, but in general it is somewhat cheaper in the all-wheel drive version. In Germany, the difference is 7,000 euros, and in the Netherlands 1,000 euros. Power and power reserve are almost identical.
