The legendary Volvo 240 has tried on a modern designJune 12, 2020
Iconic for many fans of the Swedish brand, the Volvo 240 family was produced from 1975 to 1993. An independent designer decided to imagine what a classic 240 sedan would look like today.
Volvo brand sedans have always been considered one of the most attractive. That is why Sketch Monkey took the legendary Volvo 240 for its new project, having modernized it as much as possible for our time. The artist showed the whole process of transformation in a video posted on YouTube.
Using Photoshop, the author of the render gave the classic Volvo 240 sedan new proportions. They are still square – such strict and clean lines prompted the artist to the so-called “Scandinavian theme.” He also turned to previous and current S60 models for inspiration. Alloy wheels the new Volvo 240 inherited from the S90.
The sharp C-shaped taillights traditional for Volvo models had to be adapted to the new body width. In general, the artist tried to preserve the clean and simple lines of the original 240, adapting it to the modern design language of Volvo.
The designer’s attempt to revive the classic Volvo, making it more modern, in our opinion, was a success. Sedan noticeably “freshened”, while maintaining its charm.
We will remind, earlier Peugeot 308 received a completely new appearance. The compact hatchback captured on the render changed its image radically. And all in order to keep up with their main rivals.
