The last Viper complete with Demon sold at auction for a million dollarsJune 25, 2018
The latest copies of the Dodge Viper and Challenger SRT Demon sold a single lot at the auction Barrett-Jackson for one million dollars. All proceeds from the sale, including 10 percent of commission, are directed to charity. At the same time, the minimum cost of the Demon from the dealer in the US is $ 84,995, while the Viper cost 95,800 dollars before the removal from production.
Both cars sold are painted in a special shade of red under the name Viper Red and technically do not differ from standard cars. The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon coupe is equipped with a 850-horsepower 6.2 V8 engine with a drive supercharger. From the place to 96 kilometers per hour the muscle car is accelerated in 2.1 seconds. The equipment of the model includes drag tires and a set of tools. In addition to the last copy of the coupe, various memorabilia and a special cover are attached. The total circulation of the model was 3314 copies.
Supercar Dodge Viper, whose production was discontinued in August 2017, is equipped with an 8.4-liter V10 engine, the output of which is 654 forces and 814 Nm of torque. Up to 100 km/h Viper accelerates in 3.5 seconds, and its maximum speed is 333 kilometers per hour.
The decision to remove the model from production was made because of the entry into force of new safety requirements, according to which all cars must be equipped with side curtains. In a supercar, this could not be done technologically.
