As it has traditionally happened, in the run-up to the Geneva Motor Show, in the beginning of spring of each year, the European competition Car of the Year 2018 is held. This year the competition was very unexpected and difficult. Two cars competed for leadership: the electric Jaguar I-Pacce, as well as the Alpine A110 coupe (received 250 points each). The jury had to conduct an additional vote.
60 professional journalists from 23 countries take part in the jury of the competition. Another feature of the “Car of the Year 2018” was that the British company JLR for the first time became the winner of this competition. According to the results of the second round Alpine A110 was in second place. Third place was awarded KIA Ceed new version. On the fourth and fifth places were the model Citroen C5 Aircross and Peugeot 508, respectively.
The Jaguar I-Pace crossover is equipped with two electric motors capable of developing a total power of up to 400 horsepower and 695 Nm of torque. This allows the crossover to accelerate to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, and the maximum speed is electronically limited to 200 km / h.
