The interior of the new Nissan Frontier revealed in the photoSeptember 1, 2020
The Japanese pickup will receive a modified dashboard.
The new generation Nissan Frontier is gradually approaching production, and these spy photos showcase the only thing we have yet to learn about the new truck: its interior. While it is clear that Nissan put some effort into camouflaging many of the interior elements, it was not enough.
A lot of the details are still hidden, and the installation of the panel is definitely a preliminary stage of production, but we see more than enough to appreciate what Nissan has in store for the interior of the refreshed pickup. The novelty will receive a new steering wheel, an infotainment complex with a screen. It doesn’t look particularly large in these photos – probably about 8 or 9 inches diagonally.
Also note that the materials have been modernized almost everywhere. There is even contrast stitching on the passenger side dashboard above the glove box. The HVAC controls have been merged somewhat and underneath we see two USB ports (one classic; one Type-C), a switch for truck parking sensors, and switches for heated steering wheel and heated seats.
However, from what we can see on the dashboard, it looks like Nissan is sticking with analogue gauges, probably with a digital information display in between. There is also plenty of room for a larger screen, depending on the amount of panel space.
The new Frontier is much more than just an interior update. The pickup will get a 3.8-liter V6 with 310 horsepower, 49 more than the old 4.0-liter and 158 more than the discontinued four-cylinder base engine. This result will also make it the most powerful midsize pickup in its segment.
