Hyundai Motor Group will begin mass production of the G80 on Wednesday March 4, and local launch in South Korea is scheduled for March 25. The engine range will be based on the 2.5 and 3.5 Turbo GDi engines, while the Genesis will not use the new 3.0 on the sedan in the diesel part (it will retain it as an exclusive for the GV80) and will use 2.22 hp. R-engine.

“Genesis Design DNA begins with the logo itself,” said Luke Donkerwolke, Executive Vice President, Chief Designer, Hyundai Motor Group. “The Crest grille becomes the emblem of the logo, and the Quadlamps are two wing lines. In other words, design starts with a brand, and design is a brand. ”

The Athletic Elegance design language allows for varying interpretations of the design, providing a carefully thought-out balance between two opposing characteristics, Athleticism and Elegance. The all-new G80 is the core of the Genesis range and offers a unique interpretation of the mid-size luxury sedan.

In particular, the Crest grille and two Quadlamps lines, covering all sides of the car, are branded design elements of the brand, first introduced in the GV80, and now in the entire new G80.

“Relationships begin at a glance. The distinctive “two-line” Quadlamps signature represents a clear and unique Genesis identity in seconds, ”said Sang Yu Lee, Senior Vice President, Head of Genesis Design. “Regardless of the type of bodywork, sedan or SUV, the design language of the Quadlamps and Athletic Elegance represents the brand’s distinctive personality, this will enable Genesis to offer a new alternative in the existing luxury space.”

The G80 offers uncompromising style and practicality, presenting the most modern interpretation of the classic sedan profile with the ideal proportion of rear-wheel drive and a sleek coupe like a roofline.

The side has a long wide Parabolic Line from front to back, gently descending, evoking the elegance of classic cars of the past. This is balanced by a vertical chrome line to maintain direction. Sharp power lines of the front and rear wings emphasize the powerful rack of 20-inch wheels.
