The interior of the new Genesis G70 first appeared in the picturesMay 26, 2020
The updated sedan should receive a significantly improved infotainment system.
Although the Genesis G70 for some time disappeared from the radars of the Korean brand, due to the increased interest in a much more expensive model, the G90, along with the new GV80 SUV, is about to return to the spotlight, as the facelift “loomed” on the horizon mid-life models. After photographers took a few shots of the disguised G70 earlier this month, a modernized interior first appeared in the photo.
The picture itself is not very informative, since most of the interior is still covered with material that hides the main features, however, you can see the sports steering wheel, which is very similar to the one that uses the current G70. Moreover, in the photo you can see a larger touch screen, rumored to be 10.25 inches. A multimedia installation should also receive Genesis Connected Services functionality.
On the outside, the G70 will receive split headlights and taillights, which have become a feature of the new Genesis models. However, presumably, the G70 will not have 2-way side repeaters, like the G80. In Europe, a super-attractive family wagon is planned for launch, but in the US there is no information about it.
Under the hood, the 2.5-liter Smartstream four-cylinder engine and the larger 3.5-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine are expected to replace the current 2.0 liter and 3.3 liter variants. The larger of the two engines should generate about 380 horsepower, which is almost equivalent to 382 hp powerful BMW M340i.
For the newcomer, who is expected in the first half of 2021, the changes seem significant enough to properly challenge the Germans. It is also expected to improve the quality of the interior, although it is doubtful that the Genesis could fix a slightly cramped back seat, since it will not be a completely new model. However, it is a sedan that has to offer many options at an attractive price.
