The Audi S3 Sportback is not the first time spotted by photo spies, but the latest series of shots is certainly the most revealing, as it demonstrates the interior from different angles.

It is safe to say that the design of the instrument panel has very little in common with the previous compact car from Ingolstadt, since Audi has completely changed the layout. The most obvious refinement is the placement of the MMI, which is now neatly integrated into the center console. The round vents of the outgoing model were replaced by more angular nodes in accordance with the sharper form of the dashboard.

Unlike larger Audi models, where the center console has an additional touch screen for climate control settings, the new A3, S3 and RS3 models will adhere to conventional buttons. Below them, there seems to be another row of controls, with an emergency stop button mounted in the middle. This tiny gear shifter looks familiar because we already saw it on the new VW Golf and Skoda Octavia.

At first glance, it might seem that there is only one central ventilation valve, but most likely the second ventilation valve is located to the right of the MMI, right above the place where the Quattro badge is located on the passenger side.

On the center console, you can see the rotary controller for the sound system, since it has a mute button, an on / off switch, and fast-forward and rewind keys. It is worth noting the electric parking brake, as well as the D-shaped steering wheel. A digital instrument cluster is likely to be standard even for entry-level A3s, while leather-covered seats with embossed “S” on the backs are obviously designed for top-end performance.

In terms of power, the Audi S3 Sportback and Sedan should receive at least the current 288 hp, given that the next VW Golf R will receive almost 330 horsepower. Logic tells us that S3 will accordingly increase power to 400 horsepower.

It is expected that the novelty will debut in March at the Geneva Motor Show, but Audi will probably decide to show the A3 first. The S3 model should follow soon, either until the end of the year, or at the beginning of 2021, both in the Sportback body and in the sedan version.
