The government of Germany ordered Audi to recall 60,000 carsJune 7, 2018
The Federal Motor Agency of Germany on the eve of the Audi brand ordered a large revocable company, affecting about 60,000 cars. And only 33 000 models are in Germany.
Soon an international revitalizing company will be announced, which will affect the Audi A6 and A7 models. In total, around 60,000 cars will be recalled in the world, 33,000 of which are registered in Germany. This became known due to reports of German publications that told about the new prescription of the local Federal Automobile Office, which obliged to conduct this review.
Thus, the German authorities express their concern about the fact that the Audi A6 and A7 models with diesel engines could go on sale with incorrectly measured emissions of harmful substances. At the moment, the reasons for this possibility are not yet known, but law enforcement structures suspect the company of using special software capable of deliberately underestimating the test results.
Recall that at the beginning of this year the network appeared information about the conduct of a search in one of the German offices of Audi. To date, the results of the investigation are not reported.
The press service of Audi has not commented on the information that has appeared. Therefore, the details of the revocable company are unknown, and whether it will be held formally was not reported.
It is assumed that within the framework of the recall, the firmware of the electronic control unit of the power unit will be modified, as well as the necessary adaptation of all vehicles to the current environmental requirements and norms. All the activities necessary to correct the problem will be financed exclusively by the automaker.
Meanwhile, as part of the presentation of the new flagship SUV Audi Q8, company representatives announced the creation of their own unmanned vehicles by 2021, and the basis for them will be the previously shown concept Audi Aicon.
