The future Lamborghini Grand Tourer with four doors can become an electric carOctober 8, 2019
By about 2025, the famous company will release its first Grand Tourer, designed for a minimum of four people. It has now become known that the platform from the electric Porsche Taycan may become the basis.
Despite the fact that rumors about the release of a four-door sedan from Lamborghini have been going on for ten years, the company itself has not yet decided on this. Although there is one such model in the portfolio of the premium brand – Urus, but it belongs to the crossover segment. And in fact, the manufacturer was forced to produce a sports SUV due to the huge market pressure, and it is worth recognizing that it did not fail.
However, the output of a sports sedan with two rows of seats is still possible. At least Lamborghini is considering such a possibility and is not at all against expanding the model line. Moreover, the novelty may be the first electric car in the model line. As a basis, a platform from Porsche Taycan and some solutions from the Audi E-Tron GT can be used.
Maurizio Reggiani, head of research and development at Lamborghini, says the solution is real. Although the company will have to try to create a sedan with a power reserve of more than 500 km at full charge, as well as the aggressive nature of other models of the company.
