During the tests, a camouflaged prototype of a “charged” Ford F-150 Raptor pickup truck of the new generation was seen. On the video published, you can hear the work of the V8 engine, which disappeared from the prices for the model in 2017.

At the disposal of our publication was a “spy” video, which for the first time captured a high-performance pickup truck Ford F-150 Raptor. It is noteworthy that this material “surfaced” on the eve of the debut of another “charged” truck – the long-awaited 2021 Ram 1500 TRX.

Ford F-150 Raptor and Ram 1500 TRX will compete with each other.

The new Raptor, which should be unveiled pretty soon, will presumably only be available in a four-door SuperCrew body. And this video confirms this theory. The video was posted on a foreign forum, which is dedicated to the 4th generation Ford F-150 pickup truck and shows how the prototype pickup drives through the streets and a small freeway.

For those who remember, the Ford F-150 Raptor lost its V8 powerplant back in 2017 – it was replaced with an EcoBoost V6, and this video might just prove the V8 is back. Of course, the exhaust sound is a little dull due to the ambient noise. Everyone who listened to this video was divided into two camps – some say it sounds like a V6 with a modified exhaust, while others say that the lack of EcoBoost “whining” means that this time, under the hood of the new 2021 model year namely the V8 engine.

Could the upcoming Raptor be available with a turbocharged V6 and V8 at the same time? That would be nice considering the full-size Ram 1500 TRX will be offered with multiple engines at launch.

Either way, the video does give us a clear idea of the high-performance pickup’s hood lines, proportions, and oversized tires. Many other important details are still hidden behind the regular camouflage.

Not so long ago, we wrote that the new Ford F-150 Raptor will not receive a spring suspension for the first time. Photospies were able to examine in detail the pre-production concept of the new Ford F-150 Raptor.
