The first tests Aston Martin DB11 Volante: excellent ongoings, but boring multimediaFebruary 26, 2018
Last year, Aston Martin introduced the cabriolet DB11, which joined the modification of the coupe. We tested the car and made some conclusions about it.
First of all we were surprised that the car still has a small trunk, and its volume is more than that of the DB9 Volante convertible. The novelty looks elegant, and the roof resembles an elegant umbrella, slightly soaked under the traditional British rain.
Under the hood, the DB11 Volante has a turbocharged eight сндштвук Mercedes-Benz with a payback of 503 horsepower. It sounds exactly the same as on Stuttgart cars – Aston Martin did not even work on its exhaust.
Manages the car thrillingly: the chassis has an enviable information and captures. Of course, not like the V12 Vantage S, but the DB11 Volante in this respect is near perfection.
But the interior is disappointing. We compared the multimedia system to the ZX Spectrum computer, if we compare it with what Bentley offers in the new Continental GT. Air deflectors also look very cheap, especially if you recall the price of the DB11 Volante – 160 000 pounds.
It’s worth praising the DB11 Volante for the wonderful style. We liked the fact that on the good roads of France the car did not pass the roughness of the road surface to the interior. The chassis behaves reasonably, and it’s really nice to drive the DB11 Volante even in the harshest air suspension mode.
In GT mode, the car behaves impressively: the motor runs quietly and smoothly, the eight-speed automatic екфтыьшыышщт switches the gears lazily, and the suspension accurately fulfills the roughness of the road surface. In the mode of Sport and Sport Plus the car really comes to life.
In general, we note that unlike the Bentley, the DB11 Volante is a convertible with real athletic habits, as it weighs almost a third of a ton less. But it is more expensive than German competitors, so it occupies a separate niche.
