The first selection in the women’s race W Series passed 55 participantsNovember 28, 2018
The debut season of the women’s series of races will be held next year in May on the track Hockenheimring. Currently, the selection of participants and the first organizers have already completed.
There were a lot of people willing to take part in the races, only a month after the announcement of the competitions more than 100 racers submitted their applications. The first qualifying stage is over and the event organizers chose 55 of them. And these are 30 countries, including India, China and Scandinavia. Russian women in this list, unfortunately, no.
Among the participants were famous girls in motor racing. For example, Carmen Horda (participated in the Lotus development program), Jamie Chadwick (the only girl who won the British F-3) and Amn Al Kubaisi (the first girl pilot from the United Arab Emirates).
The second selection stage in the W Series is scheduled for spring 2019. In addition to tests on the track, the girl will undergo a fitness test and psychometric profiling. Of the 55 participants at the start will be released only 18. Competitions are scheduled for the third of May.
Former F1 racers David Coulthard and Alex Wurz and former McLaren manager Dave Ryan will be the jury members.
