The first pictures of Alfa Romeo Tonale appeared on the webOctober 8, 2019
This year, the Geneva Motor Show introduced to the public a long-awaited new product – Alfa Romeo Tonale, although at the March event a compact crossover was presented as a concept.
However, now, despite the fact that the car must debut in the form of a show car for another six months, photographs have leaked to the Network, which seem to depict a pre-production copy of Alfa Romeo Tonale.
A “leaked” car is pleasantly close in appearance to its conceptual version, with obvious adaptation to the production of certain functions. For example, the headlights of a road model are less aggressive than a show car. However, do not miss the fact that the wide-angle lens slightly distorts the image.
Alfa Romeo Tonale is based on the same compact platform as the Jeep Compass, however, it is likely that the chassis was custom-made and aimed at getting an exciting driving experience. Given the growing interest of buyers in SUVs and the availability of Tonale (compared to Stelvio), the new product may be the best-selling Alfa Romeo.
It is expected that the engine range of the future model will include 1.3 liter turbo engines and 1.6 Multi Air II. The situation with the diesel option is still unclear, even if we are talking about the European market, where such engines are in demand. In addition, according to preliminary information, the range of engines can be supplemented by a hybrid power plant, which will include an internal combustion engine connected to the front axle and an electric motor that drives the rear wheels.
