The first photos of the station wagon based on the Volkswagen Arteon were published on the WebMarch 1, 2020
The car is undergoing final tests and will be presented soon.
Station wagon VW Arteon came across photo spies on European roads. Moreover, the novelty was noticed without any camouflage, which allowed us to consider it in great detail. The Arteon is pretty pretty in the shape of a sedan, but the upcoming station wagon somehow improves on the already amazing Arteon design.
The luxurious VW sedan based on the Audi A5 combines elegant lines with a cozy interior. Arteon is powered by the ubiquitous 2.0-liter turbocharged in-line TSI engine, which produces 268 hp. power.
For the US market, the TSI engine is combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission with a torque converter, rather than the proprietary DSG offered in more sports cars. In Europe, customers can choose a diesel option with an engine of the same volume. All European Arteon use a 7-speed DSG.
According to VW insiders, the automaker is working on a 400-horsepower Arteon R. According to rumors, instead of the usual 2.0-liter turbocharged inline unit, Arteon R uses a new version of the legendary VW VR6 engine.
This is not the first time we have seen pictures of the Arteon station wagon. The barn was spotted during tests in cold conditions in Sweden. During this particular test, VW tried to disguise Arteon as Passat. Now the Arteon station wagon appeared on the streets of Europe and looked ready for production.
