The first photos of a powerful serial hybrid Peugeot 508 appeared on the networkSeptember 9, 2020
L’Argus shared photos of the sports version of the Peugeot 508 in 4- and 5-door bodies. The car is a production version of the 508 Peugeot Sport Engineered prototype, which was presented in February last year.
Judging by the photo, the new modification differs from the standard 508 by the presence of a modernized aerodynamic body kit, which repeats in detail the appearance of last year’s concept. The rear diffuser hides two large tailpipes, and green details are scattered throughout the body of the newest car, which hint at a hybrid drive.
The Peugeot Sport Engineered is powered by a 1.6-liter turbo four at the front and an electric motor at the rear. The total performance of the power plant is 400 hp.
The model is capable of accelerating to the first 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. Due to the electric motor, it was possible to implement an all-wheel drive system and provide 50 km of run on electric traction. It is currently unknown whether the production vehicle will retain such characteristics.
In addition, it was recently reported that the Peugeot 5008 has got a refreshed design and a new interior. It should be emphasized that the new product will appear in European dealerships this year. There is no information about the cost yet.
